The present invention relates to a body fluid collection and transport apparatus and a method of using the same. More particularly, the present invention relates to a body fluid collection and transport apparatus having a housing configured to be wear resistant, a housing cover configured to be disposable and having a fluid entrance in fluid communication with the interior of the housing and a fluid exit in fluid communication with the interior of the housing, and a cap adapted to be removably attached to the housing cover such that the cap is configured to fluidly seal the fluid entrance when the cap is attached to the housing cover.
2. Description of the Prior Art
It is common practice for individuals to test their own blood, urine or other body fluids for various medical conditions and/or tests. In such testing, fluid is withdrawn from the individual's body, e.g., via a needle or other suitable means, and transported to a testing facility. The transported fluid may include one or more body fluids, and testing may include a variety of methods. Thus, for example, a patient's blood may be withdrawn, mixed with a reagent or other fluid, and tested for blood types, antibody levels or other characteristics. Other testing may include chemical or enzymatic reactions that detect the presence or absence of an antigen, hormone or other medical conditions or analytes.
